Commentary:
By definition, a disciple is a ‘learner.’ A disciple is one who accepts and assists in the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus commanded his followers to be disciples who make disciples. This is the core of discipleship. Christian discipleship is the process by which a believer grows in the knowledge and conforms to the image of Jesus Christ by the empowering of the Holy Spirit. Discipleship can also describe the believer’s efforts in assisting others to trust and follow Jesus. Discipleship includes three parts: Following Jesus (Head) Being changed (Heart) 3. Committing to the mission of Christ (Hands) Discipleship demands valuing Jesus Christ above all else.
