Children:

Prayer is our communication with God.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. .

Commentary:

The most basic definition of prayer may be “talking to God.” Prayer is an exercise of faith where a believer demonstrates his or her dependence upon the Father. This communication can include adoration of the Almighty, confession of one’s sins, asking for forgiveness, and admission of one’s needs. Prayer can be audible or silent, private or public, formal or informal. All prayer must be offered in faith (James 1:6), in the name of the Lord Jesus (John 16:23), and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer is meant to conform us to His will. We offer our thoughts and requests understanding that He knows best and is able.
