All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Commentary:
Word of God, Scripture, the Bible: Christians use these words synonymously to refer to the 66 books of the Old (39) and New Testaments (27).
God’s Word is the special revelation of his character and nature, laws and statues, and relationship to all men. The Old Testament deals with God’s word revealed before Jesus’ birth. The New Testament is the word of God that came after Jesus was born.
Inspiration literally means “God-breathed.” The Holy Spirit guided each writer to speak his word in their own language and style.
God’s Word is infallible; it will never lead us astray in what it teaches. It teaches right thinking and behavior as a child of God.
God’s Word points both forward (Old Testament) and backward (New Testament) to ultimate fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
